Are you gluten intolerant
Gluten is a protein component of wheat . He is a binder , which means that the ingredients keeps sticking together. If the flour woulds not contain gluten , bread would be like pancakes .
According to the Chicago University and its Center for celiac disease , there are over 300 different symptoms of celiac disease .
Here is a list of the most common symptoms :
-
inflatable abdominal pain
-
chronic diarrhea or constipation
-
disorders of the liver
-
pale and very smelly stool
-
anemia that does not respond to iron therapy
-
fatigue
-
joint pain
-
tingling in the legs
-
pallor in the mouth
-
skin rash called dermatitis herpetiformis ( DH )
-
peripheral neuropathy
-
psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety
Abdominal pain and pale stool are the most obvious symptoms . Keep in mind , 65 % of people with celiac disease does not have chronic diarrhea.
Test yourself at home
Test yourself to see if you have a problem with gluten . Maybe you do not have celiac disease , but you could very easily be intolerant to gluten .
Some of us can digest gluten without any problems , and if you are fighting with the inflation , you certainly do not belong to this category of people .
Ultimately , test and see how you feel with and without gluten . If you do not feel any consequences after eating gluten , then biopsy is a waste of time ( and with it you will never convince your doctor to do it ) . However , if you feel mysterious abdominal problems , try eating gluten .
First, get rid of foods that contain gluten in one or two weeks and record how you feel . Every day record information . After two weeks , return the gluten in the diet for another two weeks and then take notes of how you feel .
Notes of latter two weeks are probably the most important . I found by researching on many forums that when people expel gluten from their diet and turn it back , the reaction was considerably increase .
So when you return to the gluten in the diet, your body could react vigorously as alert because you have big problems with gluten .
If you feel better after you eject the gluten , and then you get worse when it is reintroduced into the diet , you have two choices :
Limit the amount of gluten .
After ejection of gluten from the diet most pepole improve health overnight . Unfortunately or joy , most junk food like a pizza , cookies and processed carbohydrates contain gluten .
Make a test that I described earlier .
Prove yourself ( or your family, and to your doctor ) that you have a problem with gluten .
Is it time for gluten-free foods ?
Experiment with food without gluten . Once you eject the gluten will not have a choice but to fill the gap in fruits, vegetables and proteins since it is all gluten free ! Or test and invest in your health .
